Okay, now we finished Kingdom Hearts 3! In our 13th (nice) episode about this game, we discussed the 13 (nice) secret reports and the secret cutscene. The game might be over, but it's not done throwing new story hooks at us! Who is Subject X? How do you pronounce that most ancient letter? Is Japan real? Kingdom Hearts is going in some weird directions, if you can believe it, and we're cautiously excited! Sam | Drew | Bluesky
I like to think that it's normal for a twelve year old child to have such darkness inside him. Boys will be boys, right? After two glorious weeks away, your hosts are back to subject themselves to the inane nonsense of Transformers Energon, and this week it REALLY starts getting to them. Character arcs are being flattened in record time, episodes feel like a meandering fever dream, and something deeply concerning is going on with the Jones family. Even the utterly bizarre tournament episode jammed into the series can't drag the mood out of the gutter. The good news is there are only eight episodes of Energon remaining. The bad news is that there are somehow EIGHT EPISODES of Energon remaining. Help. Noise Space…
We finished the dang game! More or less! In our not-final episode on Kingdom Hearts 3, we're discussing the lengthy final battle with Xehanort and the equally lengthy series of endings upon endings. We've gotten all the logistics out of the way and it's time to enjoy some emotional payoffs! More bad chess! Twists! Turns! What more could you want from a game? Journal entries to read? Those will be next week! Sam | Drew | Bluesky | Cohost
Recorded 14 April 2024 This episode contains discussion of suicide and suicidal ideation during the Persona segment Sports fans, I know we've said this before, but this episode contains one of the toughest matchups we've encountered yet; that 122-minute runtime bears that out. We also get to talk about Wes Anderson for the first (only?) time. Also contained herein: both hosts' all-time Alien franchise power rankings, Derek's hottest Wes Anderson take, an attempt at cataloguing the many facets of an all-time art film, and only slightly defamatory talk about Stephen King. In short, another classic episode! RIP to the great…
We're doing something different this episode! Breaking away from the Prisoner for just a little while and giving you Head(1968), a movie that was contemporaneous with the series and touches on the same themes of reinvention and rebellion, but couldn't have been more different in its presentation. Let's go to the beach bay-bee!!! Emory, Morg, and Izzy talk about sending our characters (from multiple realities, I guess) for a day of fun and excitement on a sandy shore. Buzz, buzz, and things of that nature! This week on our funny numbereth episode (please ignore the part at the end where we both think this is episode 68) we watched series 4 episode 7, "The Unicorn and the Wasp"! It's somehow only our second Donna episode and we enjoy to see her. Agatha Christie is also here, which means this is an episode that accidentally implies that all famous writers are incapable of imagining things and just write about what happens when they meet the Doctor.
